Puppies begin learning as soon as they arrive in your home. Are they developing good habits or bad? Let us help you train your puppy before problem behaviour is established. PAWS-ITIVE PUPPIES gives you the tools to assist in shaping your puppy’s attitude in a gentle, positive way. Many problems begin at a young age and, if left untreated, can become serious. Waiting until puppies are six months old, larger in size, with an attitude of a “teenager” and hormones surfacing can make training a challenge for most pet owners.
In our classes your puppy will learn self-confidence through socializing with other puppies and families. Using positive reinforcement and gentle techniques we will help you develop the groundwork for an enjoyable lifetime relationship with your new family member!
Topics covered include:
Sit, down, stand - using verbal commands and hand signals, coming when called, "leave it”, proper greeting (no jumping up), attention exercises, calming techniques, grooming and hygiene, pet accessories, food bowl etiquette, crate-training, tips for good child/puppy relationships, solutions for nipping and biting and effective leadership techniques. Each session ends with a puppy play period. We have lots of fun -- play games and hold a Best Puppy Trick contest on graduation day.
Each week participants take home an information package regarding the material covered in that session. A graduation diploma is awarded on completion of the course.
